On a sunny July day I started my quest to replace my broken tent pole. Little did I know I embarked on a multi-month end boss quest-line.
I visited the shop and the service person (#1) ensured me a replacement tent pole within two weeks. I patiently waited. Minutes became hours, hours became days, and days became weeks. Three weeks passed without any reply.
So by Mid-August, I returned to the store. Another service person (#2) elaborated: “That his colleague didn’t follow the proper process, so nothing has happened”. The Service #2 again ensured I would receive a new one. Again two weeks passed, and finally by early September I received the good news I could pick up my tent pole.
At the store, service person (#3) gave me a package that did not resemble what I ordered. I opened the chest for my precious loot and found ….. a bicycle mudguard. Service person #3 was just as confused as I was, and got his manager (#4) to help me out. The manager told me he would inquire and come back to me by mail. After a week the manager (#4) mailed me the issue couldn’t be solved so I was asked back to the store to place a new order.
By this time it was half September, 2 months after my initial visit. The service person (#5) told me “no we cannot order you this item, you have to send the whole tent to the repair shop and then you got a new one”. If you have made it this far in the story I hope you can understand my inner-Karen almost exploded, yet I kept my composition. The manager (#6) told me he couldn’t help me without sending the tent away, and I told him I’d rather burn my tent than to lose it due to their incompetence. In return for the inconvenience, I got a 20 euro gift card.
I walked out of the store, knowing I failed this epic quest-line, and will have to embark on my next adventures with a useless tent. Thanks for nothing Decathlon, I hope we never meet again.

Firstly, their website clearly states that orders placed before 2 PM can be picked up on the same day. Trusting this, I placed my order before the cutoff time. However, I did not receive any confirmation, and after a whole day of waiting, my order was suddenly canceled because the item was out of stock.
How can they sell an item they don’t actually have in stock? This is misleading and unacceptable. On top of that, the promise of same-day pickup turned out to be completely false.
This experience has made me lose confidence in their service and question the reliability of their inventory management and website information. I hope they address these issues and ensure other customers don’t face the same inconvenience.
I expected better and will think twice before shopping with them again.

A gentleman named Ruud helped me find my new shoes. Really happy with the service. He filmed my running form, gave me advice and gave me shoes to try on.
They allowed me to run outside. Tried new balance (I think fresh foam), brooks (not sure which), nimbus 25, and the one I finally bought.
Will definitely come here again.

The front desk is a bit chaotic, and waiting times can be a bit long.
The place is big, well lit and promotes a laid-back atmosphere.
The holds were very dirty on some routes, making you slip and fall off. Not something you want when high up.
The difficulty is a bit easier as I’m used to but the grading was very even across most boulders.
The shop is great and filled with monk branding but also DO, black diamond, and Patagonia.
The food looked tasty, but I only had coffee and that was ok.
Pricey, but not very expensive.
